Back in March, we attended the International Symposium on Malignant Mesothelioma, run by the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (also known as the Meso Foundation). As we sat in on seminars and met inspiring individuals, we shared our new knowledge and stories with you—but we’re sure many of you wish you could have been at the event in person. Thankfully, a new mesothelioma-related conference has been scheduled for September, and we wanted to let you know in advance in case you are interested in participating.

Mesothelioma Conference Details: What You Need to Know

This one-day conference will take place on September 26, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. in New York City. It is meant to coincide with Mesothelioma Awareness Day, which was established in 2004 by the Meso Foundation.

Not sure if this event is for you? The Meso Foundation has shared who they think may benefit from attending:

  • Mesothelioma patients
  • Family members
  • Caregivers
  • Those who have lost a loved one to mesothelioma
  • Medical professionals
  • Anyone who would like to learn more about mesothelioma

The Regional Conference on Malignant Mesothelioma will be held at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Zuckerman Research Center. The address is:

417 East 68th Street
New York, NY 10065

It costs $25 to register for this conference, and the fee includes breakfast, lunch, and a cocktail reception at 4:30 p.m. You can register here on the Meso Foundation’s website.

In addition to the conference, the Meso Foundation will also be trying to spread the word about mesothelioma awareness on the plaza at the TODAY Show. They will be sharing more information about that opportunity in the future, but they have said that they’ve built in plenty of time so that everyone can attend the conference and the TODAY Show if they so choose.
