About Dr. Berri

Dr. Berri is the medical director of the Oncology Service Line at Ascension Michigan. He also currently serves as the chief of the Surgical Oncology and Peritoneal Malignancies Program at the Van Elslander Cancer Center located on the Ascension St. John hospital campus.

Since treating his first mesothelioma patient in 2008, Dr. Berri has become very interested in the heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) procedure used to remove tumors from the lining of the abdomen.

He treats every patient uniquely because each case of peritoneal mesothelioma is different. While cytoreductive surgery with HIPEC is considered the best option for survival, surgeons can never know the true extent of mesothelioma tumors until they open the abdominal cavity.

Dr. Berri believes in providing best quality care for the patient before, during, and after the surgery for optimum results.
